Wayne M. Alder is an A/V rated attorney and shareholder in the firm. Wayne concentrates his practice on matters relating to the defense of professional liability cases, including medical, legal, and other professional malpractice matters, as well as complex commercial litigation. As chair of the Medical Defense Practice Group, Wayne specializes in the defense of hospitals involved in medical malpractice actions. He is also involved with the defense of marine and shipyard liability claims, as well as product liability and environmental claims.
Wayne received his J.D. in 1989 from Seton Hall University Law School in New Jersey. He also studied law in London, England in 1988 at Regents University. Prior to that, he received a B.A. in 1985 from Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York. Before practicing law, Wayne worked as a newspaper reporter and editor in New Jersey.
Wayne is a member of the Florida Bar Association, The Professional Liability Underwriting Society, The American Society for Healthcare Risk Management and various local Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice before the Florida state and federal courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Wayne lectures extensively on civil defense matters and is a frequent contributor to periodicals concerning professional liability defense and insurance matters.
