Brett R. Bloch is a shareholder of the firm and concentrates his practice on insurance coverage, bad faith and professional liability litigation. Brett heads the firm's Insurance Litigation Practice Group, which represents insureds, insurers and reinsurers in all forms of disputes regarding insurance coverage. Additionally, he is a member of the firm’s Professional Liability Practice Group, representing the interests of architects, engineers, lawyers, insurance agents and other professionals. Brett also represents insurance companies, professionals and individuals involved in construction and mold litigation.
Brett received his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law in 1987, where he was a Lead Notes and Comments Editor of the Syracuse Journal of International Law and Commerce. He also received his B.A., cum laude, from New York University in 1984.
Prior to joining the firm, Brett spent more than twelve years in the insurance industry as an underwriter, broker and claims analyst, specializing in complex professional liability and technology risks. He was also licensed as both an insurance broker and claims adjuster. In addition, he has earned the Registered Professional Liability Underwriter designation awarded by the Professional Liability Underwriting Society. Brett lectures frequently on insurance policy construction and claims handling issues and is available to appear as an expert witness regarding insurance company underwriting and claim handling practices.
Brett is a member of the state and federal Bars of Florida, New York and New Jersey.
