Maritime
The Maritime Litigation Group handles all matters related to marine, admiralty and shipyard liability matters. Our attorneys represent clients extensively in this area, but also have experience as Proctors and as licensed captains of the United States Coast Guard, providing them with significant knowledge of maritime operations and regional maritime affairs.
Our areas of specialization include the defense of marine personal injury actions, including Jones Act and cruise ship claims; property damage matters arising from sinkings, fires and collisions, and marine commercial litigation, including vessel arrests and disputes regarding limitations of liability. Due to the unique complexities of maritime insurance coverage, the Admiralty and Maritime Practice Group, together with attorneys from our other practice groups, regularly defend marine insurers and their insureds, thereby providing our clients with an unparalleled combination of both practical and legal experience.
The Maritime Litigation Group is led by Michael W. McLeod, a Proctor in the Maritime Law Association of the United States.
